We design, implement or provide consulting at the elementary level for Bilingual and Dual Education Programs, Spanish and English Reading, Special Education, ESL and ELL, as well as parent and teacher In-services.

Designing a Spanish curriculum is no easy task, however, we have many years of experience and are one of the few companies that offer this service in the country. We train district personnel to make a reading program based on an English language transition. We have done this for many districts from Illinois to Texas.

Our founder, Alma Valdes has created another program, Accelerating Spanish Reading (ASR) to assist bilingual programs across the nation with the transition process of turning native Spanish speakers into English readers.

Accelerating Spanish Reading (ASR) is an innovative professional development model designed to help teachers in understanding and applying methodologies and learning strategies to support Spanish reading instruction as the basis to successfully transition students to English reading.

Through the ASR model, teachers gain meaningful and practical knowledge of teaching Spanish reading aligned to the five essential components of reading as outlined under the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act: Phonemic Awareness; Phonics; Fluency; Vocabulary and Comprehension.

Teaching Spanish reading in the United States is not the same as teaching in Spanish speaking countries. Teachers need effective methods to help students accelerate the transition from Spanish to English reading. To achieve this goal, the ASR model provides professional development activities encompassing:

  • Traditional Instructor-Led Training;
  • In-classroom Modeling;
  • Coaching/Mentoring; and
  • Ongoing support
